[Posted at Oct'07] I'm not adicted but I smoke sometimes. I don't know why but I was really surprized to find such thing here in the US. Maybe because I thought that Gudang Garam was a brasilian cigarette brand, although it would be a very weird name.

Different uses for Cormen's Introduction to Algorithms book
[Posted at Oct'07] I remember spending couple hours planning how to buy Cormen's Introduction to Algorithms book with my trainer salary. I just couldn't make it. Several years later, I finially bought one. I don't use it very often though. Time changes, needs too.
The picture below was taken in friend's house.
See how useless it can become? I hope my young buddies down there in Brazil don't see this picutre.

Trashing Furniture
[Posted at Oct'07] Maybe the picture isn't too good to show but these are in-perfect-state furniture pieces that were trashed in one of the trash collector spots in the condo that I live in.
If that happened in my home town, people over there would say that whoever trashed that is crazy or are quite spoiled. But people down there don't know that here sometimes you have to pay to trash stuff or get rid of things.
If you think you need to pay to trash things, or get rid of stuff, a lot of other "crazy" things that happens in America actually do a lot of sense. For instance, let's take the example of T-Shirt for U$1.00.
Sounds crazy that clothes that usually cost a lot more are sold for U$1.00. The thing is, if you were a store owner and bought 100 T-Shirt and sold most of them. Let's say that you have 2 or 3 that most likely will not be bought soon. They actually became a problem since your store has limited space and there will be a new batch of clothes comming soon. You have couple options.
A) You can trash it. But then, you would be loosing whatever the shirt costed + paying someone to take it out of the shelf + a potential a trashing fee
B) Or you can just lower the price until someone decide to buy
If think in this way, if you do B, you'll actually making money. And if you have enough statistics (they usually have) you can increase shirt price slightly to include the money that you will loose when you have to lower the price of the never selling 2%.
If you think in this way, they are actually very clever. ;)

[Posted at Oct'07] This is a keychain of an afterhours snack bar's restroom. I guess they had trouble with drunk guys before.

What a weather!
[Posted at Oct'07] This two pictures were taken in Seattle.
This one was taken last summer. For metric oriented people (like me) here is the conversion: 96°F = 35°C.
This one was taken this morning. Conversion: 20°F = -7°C).

Hi, could you press Wedding Chappels Convetion please?
[Posted at Oct'07] Have you though getting married? What about doing it as fast as do you when ordering a to-go in a fast food store. Sounds crasy huh? That's exactly how it works in Vegas. The picutre below was taken in a Hotel in Las Vegas when me and other two friends traveled on vacation.
